Introduction

After checking out Corsair's first DDR500 matched pair, the TWINX XMS4000 1Gb Kit, Corsair is back with their latest DDR500 offering for PC gamers and enthusiasts.  Named the XMS ProSeries, these ultra-performance modules build on the extreme performance Corsair's XMS modules are renowned for.


The big difference now is that the new XMS ProSeries incorporates two nice new features: an all new heatsink design and the innovative memory activity LEDs.

 

Over the years we have seen Corsair excel at producing ultra-performance DDR memory modules. They have specifically targetted gamers and enthusiasts with their XMS line of modules making it some of the most popular and sought after DDR in the world.  The new ProSeries DDR looks follows in the footsteps of the succesfull XMS line, with the added bonus of literally flash looks.

How Corsair describes the TWINX 1024-4000 ProSeries Kit

Tested and packaged together in pairs immedietely following system test, the TWINX1024-4000Pro are specifically designed for motherboards using chip sets with dual memory channel functionality. This includes Intel chipsets like the i875P ("Canterwood"), the i865PE/G ("Springdale") and the Nvidia nForce2 Ultra 400 for AMD processors. Corsair's memory kit consists of two ultra high-speed memory modules that have been tested together at DDR500 on a Canterwood-based dual-channel platform. Both CMX512-4000Pro modules has been verified to operate at that speed using a relaxed latency setting of 3-4-4-8. Each module is a 512MB, dual bank, ultra-performance DDR SDRAM DIMM that has been tested extensively in a variety of motherboards commonly used in gaming rigs according to Corsair.
