Wasn't it them that first introduced activity LEDs on their highly popular PRO series? What seemed to be a boring piece of computer hardware suddenly turned into one of the industry's hottest PC component when it came out. For the first time, you can finally see your memory at work with those flashing LEDs. A bit geeky for the ordinary user but definitely a must have for the ultimate enthusiast.
For years, Corsair have constantly come up with the newest and fastest memory in town. Their PRO series was a huge hit to the enthusiasts. So why stop there? How can you top you're current champion? The answer is XPERT. Today, Corsair raises the bar once again by producing the most intelligent, advanced and innovative memory module to hit the PC world to date, the Corsair XPERT Modules. We are fortunate enough to deliver to our readers a review of the first XPERT product from Corsair. Introducing the world's first memory modules with programmable LED display, the TwinXP1024-3200XL XPERT Memory.
How Corsair Describes the XPERT Modules
“Dubbed XPERT, this new technology uses an integrated microcontroller and embedded sensors to measure voltage, temperature, and frequency on the memory module. Each fo these parameters, along with a user-programmable scrolling marquee can be shown on abig alphnumeric display that is part of the memory module. Corsair XPERT modules also have two rows of memory activity LED's that show real-time memory activity, similar to the popular Corsair PRO series.
The parametric display, as well as the message display, can be controlled from the Windows™ desktop using the Memory Dashboard, a stand-alone application whihc provides the software component of this technology. Using the Memory Dashboard, the user can control which parameters are displayed, for what duration, and in what order. It also allows the user to program scrolling message strings up to 69 characters long."
