THE ART OF LAPPING
Lapping the Celeron, Socket 370 and Slot 1 Style
By Ramil Tranquilino
The art of lapping the Celeron has been a well known secret for most overclockers. The main aim for doing this procedure is to get better heat transfer between the hestsink and the processor, thus a cooler CPU temp. By sanding the nickel layer off the CPU core, we are exposing the copper layer which we all know is the best medium when it comes to heat transfer.
A lot of sites have a howto on doing this procedure but most uses a Socket 370 based Celeron. This time you'll see it done in both Socket 370 and Slot 1 fashion. I know there's not much difference but for the sake of request, it will be done both ways.
