As far as I can tell, this is the fastest, easiest, and cheapest way to get yourself up and running on the .COM bandwagon.  Of course, there are other ways to get yourself a site with certain limit space for 15, 20 or even $30/month, plus $65 to Networksolution, and either writing 10 Emails back and forth, or talk to 3-4 tech support all day on the phone.  And that comes to about $425 on the first year, or do it my way, 15 minutes to setup, $29 one time payment, and its all yours for the whole year, It's even less if you sign up long term.

1-year registration at $29 (Save $6 off the market price.)
2-year registration at $59 (Save $11 off the market price.)
3-year registration at $89 (Save $16 off the market price.)
5-year registration at $139 (Save $36 off the market price.)
10-year registration at $249(Save $101 off the market price.)

First:
You'll need to equip yourself with some freeware programs.

Second:
Now getting a free server and site space.
Direct link: http://www.bizland.com/
On the top there'll be a "Sign Up Today and Become a Member!! " Just sign yourself in.  With 35meg, within a few minutes, your account will be created as  http://www.accountname.bizland.com
(Note: Think of the name before doing so, your account name, after completing the whole process will be your .COM domain name)

Third:
The easiest part, getting a domain name.
After you got yourself an account, go back to member page, then login.  (Remember, you need to login first).
Within member's area, look for "Register your own Domain Name". Then look for Getting Started:

  • If you are a BizLand.com member click here to register a new domain name today. (Will ask for domain password, not the same as account password)
All you need to enter are: the domain name of your choice, your personal info, $29 from your credit card, and voilà.. within a day or two, people can access your site by http://www.accountname.com  (All automatically done, you don't have to do a thing)

Fourth:
Getting in and out the server
More detail direct link: FAQ
After installing FTP software on your computer you will need to configure it to connect to server. You will need the following information ...

Host Address  : ftp.bizland.com
User  : your accountname
Password  : your account password
Last:
DNS moving just in case.
Bizland is good at taking you in, but if you have to move your DNS to another server, you'll not get any jack help from them.  So, here is what you have to do.. (Remember, Bizland registered your domain with openSRS, Not Networksolution)
DNS domain management:
Site: http://manage.opensrs.net/
Go to [Manage Name Servers]
Login as followed
Domain name: accountname.com
User name: accountname
Password: domain password (Not the same as account password)

As your new host server will provide you, but first, don't forget to write down your existing Bizland's name & IP value.  Then, all you have to do is change the following.

Primary Server Hostname: [new name]
Primary Server Netaddress: (openSRS will auto ping)
Secondary Server Hostname:  [new name]
Secondary Server Netaddress:  (openSRS will auto ping)

Keep in mind, DNS entries sometimes take several days to propagate across the Internet.  So, if moving server is imminent, wise to keep both old and new site synchronized.  For example, on the first day,  readers in US will get to see new server, but folks at Down-Under will still see the old one.

That's it..
15 Minutes to setup, less then 2 days you'll get the .COM.
And only costs US$29/year. Then if your site generates enough page view, say... 120,000/month, somebody will knock at your door, and offer to move you to their server for free, with unlimited bandwidth, and banner profit sharing affiliate program. Or look into Bizland's affiliate program here: Affiliate.html

Oh! One more thing:
Here are my last three thoughts..
First, ME-TO.COM will never fly
Second, look here first for who's out there
Last, As they said.. "There are two kinds of sites on the World Wide Web: those that are under construction, and those that are dead"  Getting news and reviews if you don't know how, instead of writing another 4 pages, best advice is @  thetechzone (Thanks to Moto)
