Procedure:
  • Inspect your socket mobo before application.

  •
  • Apply the dielectric grease by completely filling the socket’s CPU pin holes with it.  Is this safe?  Oh yeah!  Been using my dielectric grease dipped CPU for more than 6 months now without any problems.
  • Place the socket mobo on an even platform.

  •
  • Start application of conformal coating around the base of the socket mobo.  Just enough to seal it.
  • Let it dry and harden before proceeding with the center slug area.

  •
  • Do the same on the center.  Just apply a thin layer enough to coat and seal the entire slug area.
  • Let it cure overnight.  Here's what the slug and base would look like with the Dow Corning Conformal Coating.  Very clean as compared to RTV.
