Introduction

Triplex first came into our attention when they produced the world's first silver card. Our first contact with such revolutionary PCB, which they called Millenium Silver, was when we reviewed their Titanium cards during the GeForce 4 days. Such design promised better cooling for increased stability and overclocking.

After doing very well with their GeForce 4 line, It's been a while since we heard from Triplex again. For a while they concentrated on the Xaber line of graphics card. But that particular card didn't do really well on the graphics scene. So what's next after having success with NVIDIA and experimenting on Xabre? Well, ATI could only be the next big thing for Triplex.

Wanting a piece of the pie from both NVIDIA and ATI, Triplex started producing cards based on the Radeon. Today will be our first time reviewing a card from Triplex's ATi line of graphics card.  Introducing Triplex's ATI Radeon 9600Pro offering, the REDai 9600Pro 128mb.

In order to make a difference in a world already full of Radeon 9600Pro cards, Triplex knew that they have to come up with something special for their card to be noticed. So back is the Millenium Silver PCB that has done great things for them. Not only does it help in cooling and reducing EMI but it also made the card look extremely nice. They've also used Samsung 2.8ns DDR for better overclocking and matched it with highest quality Sanyo OS-CON capacitors with low ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) to increase VGU and RAM voltage stability when operating in high frequency.

Below is a table comparing Triplex's REDai 9600Pro's default speed against a standard ATI Radeon 9600Pro and for comparison, to a NVIDIA FX5600 Ultra. You will notice that it's default speed is already overclocked by 5% on the core and about 13.5% on the memory. Pretty impressive already just by looking at the numbers. So far so good, huh?

Graphics Card Core/Memory Memory Interface Memory Maximum Bandwidth
Triplex REDai 9600Pro 420/675 128 bit 128 mb 9.6 Gb/s
Radeon 9600 Pro 400/600 128 bit 128 mb 9.6 Gb/s
FX 5600 Ultra 400/800 128 bit 128 mb 12.8 Gb/s
